Become the MS Dhoni of your company

Five months to appraisals. Three questions to ask yourself before the company asks them, and why your increment tracks the company's growth, not your effort.

Companies do appraisals in April, so five months remain. This is the right time to introspect and analyze your performance in the last seven months. You need to understand this, your growth (salary increment) is directly proportional to the company’s growth.

Ask questions like these to yourself:

  • What is my contribution towards the company’s growth? Am I really a valuable asset to the company?
  • What things I’ve learned/improved in the last two quarters?
  • If the company decides to restructure, what will be my position? Will I remain a valuable asset to the company or not?

If you follow cricket, you might notice one thing. The Indian team is missing MS Dhoni as a wicketkeeper and his overall presence on the ground. Your target should be to become the MS Dhoni of your company.

You might think you’re giving your 100%, but trust me, your capacity is much more. It’s time to believe in yourself. So, stretch your limits, get out of your comfort zone, and show it in your performance and results in the coming months.
